The information we collect
At the King and Empire website, we respect your right to privacy and we understand that visitors to the Site need to be in control of their personal information. We also want to present information on the Site that is tailored to the needs of our visitors. For this reason we may ask you to provide personal information when you visit certain areas of the site. The types of personally identifiable information that may be collected at these pages include: name, email address, telephone number and family history related to the Great War.
How we use the information
We use this information in order to build pages on the Archive, a section of the web site that seeks to commemorate Canadian Soldiers. King and Empire may disclose information you provide if required to do so by law or if we have a good faith believe that disclosure is necessary to (1) comply with the law or with legal process served on King and Empire (2) protect and defend the rights or property of King and Empire; or (3) act in an emergency to protect someonešs safety. If we gather demographic information from you (for example, your age, education level or household income), we will not share that information in a manner that identifies you as an individual with any other entity, unless we let you know that at the time of collection. When we share demographic information with third parties, we will give them aggregate information only. King and Empire may carefully select third parties to send you information about their products or services.
Collection of information by third-party sites and sponsors
Some of our sites contain links to other sites whose information practices may be different than ours. Visitors should consult the other sites' privacy notices as we have no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, these third parties.
King and Empire policy for data from children
King and Empire does not collect data for individuals that identify themselves as children under the age of 18. If information from a child under the age of 18 is knowingly received by King and Empire, we will respond to the inquiry, if appropriate, and will delete all personally identifiable information (including email address) concerning that child from our records. That information will not be used for any other purposes, nor will it be disclosed to any other parties. King and Empire will promptly delete the information upon learning that it relates to a child. As noted above, King and Empire will not knowingly collect any information from a child. King and Empire believes that parents should supervise their childrenšs online activities and consider using parental control tools available from online services and software manufacturers that help provide a kid-friendly online environment. These tools can also present children from otherwise disclosing online their name, address, and other personal information without parental permission.
